In Cape Verde, the activity of Fogo is described as calm, despite a small increase on January 9, according to Sonia Silva, a volcanologist at the University of Cape Verde. Friday, gases and ash formed a dark brown plume top of 1200-1300 meters. On 10.01, the gas column is of low density and high of 200-300 meters and the lava fronts stagnants.
