Etna : a short 17° paroxysm.

The 17 ° climax of this year characterizing the new crater southeast of Etna has been short this time .

After an  intermittent strombolian activity during the night of November 22 to 23, it led by the seismograms on a phase of intense activity between 10.30 and 11:15 . Peak tremor was too short .

Etnawalk reported lava fountains from 10:55 loc.time, amount between 700 and 800 m. height (video Michele Mammino), their activity was maintained for about twenty minutes. Lava fountains were camouflaged on webcams by a huge plume of ash which are developed lightning, caused by the friction of particles.

Ash and centimeter lapilli fell back on the Ionian coast , Fornazzo , Fiumefreddo , Sant'Alfio to Taormina, before the winds disperse the cloud to the north. Fontanarossa airport closed two air corridors over Catania , without significant disruption to users.
